After 17 years, Trading Places is entering a new chapter.
The business will not be relocating or reopening a storefront under my ownership. Instead, I am seeking the right person to build upon the foundation that has been created and carry Trading Places forward as its next owner.
A Personal Message from Michelle
Reaching this decision required a great deal of reflection and soul-searching. Trading Places has been part of my life for 17 years, and stepping away from the business I built from the ground up is not something I have taken lightly.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of watching Trading Places grow from an idea into a trusted local business and community. Along the way, I formed meaningful relationships with thousands of customers, consignors, employees and community partners.
Trading Places has been beside me through many personal highs and lows. It has challenged me, inspired me and given me opportunities, friendships and memories that I will always treasure.
I have truly loved building this business and serving the Central Ohio community. As I considered what the next chapter should look like, both for Trading Places and for my own life, I realized that I am ready to hand the torch to someone new.
My hope is that the next owner will recognize the strength of what has already been built and bring the energy, vision and leadership needed to take Trading Places into its next chapter.

While my chapter as the owner and operator of a Trading Places storefront is coming to a close, I believe the business itself still has an exciting future.
Trading Places is officially for sale, and I am searching for the right person to carry the brand forward.
My hope is to find an entrepreneur or established business owner who will take this foundation and build upon it, preserving what our customers and consignors have loved while bringing new energy, ideas and opportunities to the brand.

My Hope for the Future of Trading Places
Although this decision brings some sadness, it also brings a sense of peace and possibility.
I am incredibly proud of what we created over the past 17 years. Trading Places became more than a place to buy and sell furniture and home décor. It became a trusted resource, a gathering place and a community of people connected by a shared appreciation for beautiful homes, meaningful pieces and the value of giving items a second life.
My greatest hope is that this is not the end of Trading Places.
I hope the business finds a new owner who recognizes the strength of its foundation, respects the relationships that have been built and feels inspired to carry the torch forward.
